What Do I Do If I Have A Rash?
The skin is the largest organ of the body, and with that there are more visits to urgent care clinics for skin issues than for any other reason.
A rash can be caused by:
Excessive heat -
Long term moisture -
Irritant exposure -
Dry Skin -
Virus -
Fungus -
A rash that develops in a line with raised bumps could be Shingles.
Don't Scratch
Aside from being uncomfortable, a rash can become infected or spread farther into other areas if not properly treated. Usually immediate attention is not required but the sooner that we get treatment started the sooner that you will start feeling better.
You should not scratch your rash! We realize that it is very itchy but this may open the skin and present opportunities for infection to enter the skin. If the itching becomes unbearable you can take a Benadryl before coming into the office for assistance.
